Field Experience

McPherson Middle School- Completion of a 1-year internship in a seventh grade General Science class. The internship consisted of the following: Creating and teaching units, planning and teaching lessons, parent conferences, parent meetings and contacts, IEP's, 12 hour days, daily interactions with students ranging from gifted to special education, development of behavior management skills, worked with a special education co-teacher, and had the entire year to develop teacher skills.

Holt Junior High School- Completion of a 22-week placement in two 9th grade Earth Science classrooms. Placement consisted of the following: teaching four separate lessons, teaching for a three-day lesson sequence, working with and responding to students, daily opportunities for assisting the corresponding teacher and for one-on-one interactions with the students.

Birmingham Groves High School- Completion of a 6-week placement in a 10th grade integrative science class. Involved observation of classroom management, classroom set-up, lesson flow, and classroom inclusion.
